What the award means for ISDs, municipalities, higher ed, and public facility portfolios nationwide.
We're pleased to share that NanoTech Materials has been awarded TIPS Contract 26010401 (NON-JOC) & 26010402(JOC), Trades, Labor, and Materials, with a scope covering our Cool Roof Coating system.
For public-sector buyers, this is more than a procurement update. It's a meaningful shortcut through one of the most time-consuming parts of any facilities project: the solicitation process itself.
What TIPS is, and why this award matters
The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), administered by Region 8 Education Service Center in Texas, is a national cooperative purchasing program that gives public agencies, school districts, colleges, municipalities, and qualifying non-profits access to pre-competed, compliant contracts. Rather than running an independent RFP for every project, eligible entities can piggyback off a contract that's already been competitively solicited and awarded, where their jurisdiction allows.
Translation: the procurement legwork is already done. TIPS members nationwide can now engage NanoTech Materials for Cool Roof Coating projects through Contract 26010401 without reinventing the wheel on compliance.
Who benefits
The award is especially relevant for the professionals managing the buildings that serve our communities every day:
K-12 Independent School Districts looking to reduce cooling loads in aging buildings without a full roof replacement
Higher education facility teams managing large, mixed-use campuses with tight operating budgets
Municipal and county public works departments responsible for offices, libraries, maintenance facilities, and public buildings
State agencies and public cooperatives with distributed facility portfolios
TEMA, APPA, and TAPPA members evaluating long-term asset integrity strategies across their portfolios
If your role involves squeezing more useful life out of existing roofing assets while keeping utility spend in check, this award opens a door.
What Cool Roof Coat actually does
Cool Roof Coat is a fluid-applied coating system engineered around our proprietary Insulative Ceramic Particle (ICP)™ technology. It installs directly over most existing low-slope roof substrates with no tear-off required, meaning facilities stay operational during application.
A few points worth clarifying, because they matter for how the product performs in the field:
Heat rejection is not the same as heat reflection. Traditional white or reflective roof coatings work primarily by bouncing solar radiation back toward the sky. Cool Roof Coat's ICP™ technology takes a different path, rejecting heat transfer into the building envelope in a way that continues to perform even as the coating ages, weathers, and accumulates the real-world grime that degrades reflectivity on conventional white roofs over time.
Cooling load reduction. Customers have reported meaningful reductions in cooling energy costs following application, with associated reductions in HVAC runtime and wear.
Asset life extension. The coating acts as a protective layer against UV exposure, thermal cycling, and general weathering, helping facility managers extend the service life of the existing roof membrane they've already invested in.
Non-hazardous and operationally friendly. Application is compatible with occupied facilities such as schools, offices, warehouses, and government buildings.

A note to our partners
This award is the result of a lot of work behind the scenes, and we're grateful to the TIPS team at Region 8 ESC for running a rigorous, transparent procurement process. It's also a reflection of the trust our existing public-sector customers have placed in us, whose reference letters and real-world project results were part of what got us here.
We're looking forward to putting this contract vehicle to work. If you have a project in this space, or if you're just starting to scope one, reach out. Let's build something that performs.
